A man in India recently was rescued by a truce with whom he volunteered to bury himself for eight hours in order to reach his goal and become a god.
Deeraj Kharol, a priest who lived in Karocho ka Kheda, Rajasthan province for many years last week, announced he plans to bury himself as part of a bizarre festival to become a mythical godmother "Samadhi "(The Savior), and three days later he will be resurrected to become God. Instead of talking to him, the interested villagers applauded his decision, and he was also helped to assist him in any way, even digging for him near the church he was living in. On Wednesday, the first day of the village of Navratra, they buried him in the pit.
Villagers from nearby villages gathered for the festival, and after covering the pit with rocks and mud then they began to worship there. Fortunately for Kharol, his news of the festival spread rapidly among the local community and reached the ears of the regional police station officials who rushed to the village of Karocho Ka Kheda with a group of interventions.
Police official Mansingh Dev and his colleagues were reported to have arrived at the site where Deeraj Kharol was buried at about 2 am Thursday but was greeted by villagers who prevented them from interfering with the festival. According to the Times of India, the police have convinced the elders of the village that buried Kharol that he would die of suffocation before the villagers finally allowed them to intervene.
Kharol did not know when the police dug him out of the pit. He was taken to a nearby health center and now he is well again. Later, he told officials that it was his own desire for Samadhi and that the villagers who helped him were not to blame.
